Come along to our June Salon to meet a collection of literary, artistic innovators whose creations are hand-made, hand-held, and hand-sized!
Come along to our June Salon to meet a collection of literary, artistic innovators whose creations are hand-made, hand-held, and hand-sized! For our June Salon we’re hosting a host of independent creatives presenting their diminutive creations. Our theme is ‘mini’, but our aims are high: to bring together people on the margins of traditional publishing. Whether self-published, small-press, or producing beautiful work purely for the purpose of their craft – creating Art for Art’s sake – we‘re providing a platform for them to show and sell their work.
We are talking cottage industry, risograph, calligraphed, intricately stitched, octavo folded, scrimshawed on whalebone, bound with silken thread, held with vegan beeswax. But we’ve not ruled out those whose printing methods would send the Luddites spinning in their ancient graves, and who utilise the long-armed stapler.
The MINI ZINE FAIR will be at our usual home, The Outhouse, and will incorporate a Salon Gathering at the mid-point, where literary folk come to chat, drink, and network. We’ll have a short presentation on the MINI ZINE THEME, introducing the Zine Tablers and finding out about their creative methods. This section will be livestreamed on Zoom for those who cannot attend in person. After this, folks can stick around to buy zines and have another drink… or two.
